Klu Klux Klan
The infamous hate/terrorist group, the Ku Klux Klan, has a history of attacking Jews. Mainly, they focused on African Americans but expanded their hatred to others such as the Jews, immigrants, gays and so on.
“The Jews themselves know the end of their rule is coming that is why they have been kicked out of every nation on this planet twice for their greed. For those who do not know that look into it for yourself also look into the truth of the Federal Reserve act and the Rothschild banking system and you will see how they control all the worlds’ governments through their private owned banks. They openly brag on the government controlled television of their power. And their open hatred for all races upon the face of the Earth. Look at how the Jews get away with private schools and private hospitals. In the state of Israel the only way to become a citizen is through a DNA test. A test that proves by blood you are Jewish but yet they still have the wool pulled over Jude o-Christian preachers eyes. By saying they are a religion not a race a trick the Jews have used for hundreds of years when confronted about their evil ways. Christ tells the Jews what they can look forward to in hell for their religion of evil in Rev.2:9 and also see John 8:31-44 were he says they are the seed of the devil. By fighting against the Jew you are doing the Lord's work. We in the Loyal White Knights will fight until the very end with our last breath. We are in the streets and our numbers keep growing the Jews notice now that the Klan is on the rise in modern day America!” (KKK)
This is a direct excerpt from the KKK’s website where they recruit and spread their message of white power. They hate the Jewish community because they feel they control the money and power in America. They slander the Jews for being greedy and selfish and use this as the reasoning for their persecution in other countries. Known of these claims are based off facts but off of their own reasoning. They support the teachings of Hitler, who used the Jews as a scapegoat to gain power in a weak Germany. According to the SPLC, 917 hate groups are active in America and are predominantly in the South and East coast. 130 of these are affiliated with the KKK. But even with their history of terrorism, news outlets, like Fox news, don’t classify them as terrorists groups. They categorize them into the hate crime unit. But when it is a Muslim individual committing a crime, it is labeled a terrorist act. This allows the KKK to come off less dangerous than other terrorist groups which in not true. And since they are mainly located in the South, which is conservative, conservative politicians turn a blind eye to their acts because they are supported by them. In the recent election, the conservatives won every southern state. And with the election of Donald Trump, hate crimes have risen 6% according to the New York Times.

Anti- Semitism in the U.S.
Over the past few months, there has been a huge increase in anti-Semitism in the United States. Many feel, that it is due to the latest leader of our country not focusing on the hatred within our country. Others think that society is just more relaxed than it used to be. Whatever the case may be, anti-Semitism is on the rise, it is undeniable that it is a real problem in the U.S. and for the citizens.
Since January of 2017 there have been hundreds of incidents from burglarizing cemeteries, writing swastikas on buildings, and hundreds of bomb threats alone reported around the country. President Trump responded to the incidents saying “The anti-Semitic threats targeting our Jewish community and community centers are horrible and are painful, and a very sad reminder of the work that still must be done to root out hate and prejudice and evil.” (nationalreview.com) While it is in fact important to acknowledge the hatred in the country, President Trump has yet to do anything to help rectify the situation.
The question remains: What can we as a society do to help alleviate the hatred?
Whenever I think of this question, I think about 9/11 and how we as a country banded together to help each other out. Just because there wasn’t a physical terrorist attack killing thousands of people, does not mean we should turn a blind eye to the terrorism that is happening every day in this country.
I think President Trumps aloof attitude to the anti-Semitism in the country is appalling, and if we don’t respect our president, how are we supposed to respect our neighbors?
